    My Story

When you develop a relationship with a therapist who really understands you, you will find new ways to approach life’s challenges, heal old wounds, and change the way you live your life.

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I’m human. I’ve been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. For more than a decade, I have had the honor of working with young people and parents who are learning how to navigate this important period of life with self-awareness, skill, and confidence. I love empowering people to transform their lives by healing their past and managing their present.

There is no greater reward than seeing a client excited and hopeful about their future… sometimes for the first time in their lives!

    As a Therapist & Coach, I believe…

It takes courage to ask for and accept help.

We can do hard things and we can live better for it.

Small steps in the right direction add up to big change.

If we continue to keep working and believing in ourselves we can be in a completely different space sooner than we think.

We can stop feeling shame when we share our story with someone who can hear it with empathy and understanding.

The teen and young adult years are full of unique challenges that can be even tougher when it feels like no one understands or relates.  The good news is that it doesn’t have to stay that way.  The most powerful thing I have learned over the years is how innately resilient young people are.  I am passionate about helping them discover their inner strengths and recognize that they are so capable of overcoming the struggles that have been holding them back.  My primary goal in counseling is to create a safe space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings freely, in their time, and on their terms. I listen carefully and read between the lines, helping my clients to figure out what is really going on and helping them forge their own, unique path forward.  I am committed to facilitating positive change.

More about my training & experience…

I am licensed to practice in three states: Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (New Hampshire), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Maine), and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (New York).

I have a background in Art Therapy and am a Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC).

Over the years I have completed extensive, additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Counseling, ADHD & Executive Dysfunction, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Harm Reduction. My counseling style pulls from a variety of therapeutic models to create a truly individualized treatment approach.

My experience as a Therapist and eventually, Clinical Director, spans over a decade and includes Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs, long-term residential treatment, wilderness therapy, and short-term therapeutic boarding school.
